Faculty Conference Center (5th floor of the Burns Building)

With Inauguration Day just around the corner, D.C. is bracing itself for 1 million spectators and protesters. From the Boston Tea Party to the Civil Rights movement, to the more recent Black Lives Matter Movement, Standing Rock protests, and Occupy Wall Street, American history has demonstrated time and time again the value of protest in bringing about social and political change.
Please join us for a conversation about the rights of protesters and the value of social activism. Joining us will be Art Spitzer, Legal Director of the ACLU of the Nation’s Capital, and Mark Goldstone, a prominent D.C. based attorney with more than 30 years of experience defending those charged with civil disobedience during protests.
Whether you’re a well-seasoned activist, participating in your first protest, or simply want to know more, we encourage everyone to attend. Food and drinks will be provided.
Introduce a friend or colleague to ACS by inviting them to join you at this event!
